Johnson was elected to the Executive Committee of the National Education Association in July 2009. He has 25 years of experience as a high school choir director and currently teaches in Mustang, Okla. where under his direction, the program at Mustang High School has grown to include 250 students involved in four choirs A member of the Oklahoma Education Association and the Mustang Education Association, he served the MEA as president, bargaining chair, grievance chair, and Association representative. Greg has represented OEA for two terms on the NEA Board of Directors. During his time on the Board, Greg represented NEA’s Western region on the development of NEA’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values, adopted during NEA’s Representative Assembly in 2006. He received his bachelor of music education from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and master of music education degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
